Are McDonald's eggs fresh?

There are often a lot of questions asked around where McDonald’s eggs come from. Rumour has it our eggs come from a packet. That’s sort of true – you could call an egg carton a packet. All of our eggs come in cartons from ethical free-range suppliers.

We believe happy chickens produce the best eggs, that’s why our eggs from our friends at Otaika Valley Farms near Whangarei and Kaharoa, and Zeagold Foods who have farms in Waitaki.

To be sure our eggs are the best, our egg suppliers are regularly and independently audited to check on the welfare of the chickens and the quality of the eggs.

We’re often asked if McDonald’s eggs are fresh. The answer is yes – they are delivered fresh from our suppliers’ farms each week and are only cracked in-restaurant, moments before being cooked to perfection and served.
