Lettuce

People ask a lot of questions about the produce we use. Questions like, is McDonald's lettuce real? And where does it come from? We aim to answer these questions and dispel any rumours about our lettuce. First things first, the question is McDonald's lettuce real? Of course, it is real.

LOCALLY GROWN

Our lettuce grows year-round, primarily from farms in the Bombay area of Franklin, just outside of Auckland. We work with our supplier to make sure we get the finest heads of fresh lettuce picked, chopped and delivered to our stores to serve our customers.

FRESHNESS

The leaves towards the heart of the lettuce are the freshest, and those are exactly the ones we use for our famous chopped iceberg lettuce. That's why they're light green and white in colour, rather than the darker green colour seen on lettuce's outside leaves.
